"Do your best & God will help"
Welcome to Loreto College, St Albans. For 100 years we have been delivering an outstanding education for all students in our care and I hope within these pages you will discover something of how we combine the best of traditional values with the very latest in teaching methods and technologies within an international community inspired by the spirit of Mary Ward, the foundress of the institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We encourage all of our students to live out the values Mary Ward promoted: Freedom, Sincerity, Truth, Justice and Joy. For further information about our Catholic mission, please click here.
The excellent behaviour of our students, the support of their parents, and the hard work of our staff all help to make Loreto College a very successful school. On this website you will find a copy of our latest OFSTED report, in which the school is rated as outstanding. You will also find that the school has been recognised for the excellent academic achievements of its students. There are also numerous reports on the many extracurricular activities which help to enrich school life.

We are a thriving community justifiably proud of our excellent examination results and the large number of students who are accepted onto degree courses each year, including some of the most competitive subjects at the Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. We provide a wide variety of successful academic programmes. While the majority of the Sixth Form are girls continuing their education at Loreto following their GCSEs, we do allocate a number of places to external students. We are delighted to welcome boys as full-time students, making Loreto Sixth Form co-educational.Full Welcome
I really like the atmosphere and the school grounds. It's really beautiful to look at.
I love the library. It's so quiet and you can just sit and read in peace with no distractions.
I love all the different extra curricular clubs at Loreto.
At Loreto we are one big community and we believe in fundraising and we all come together to help others and always raise amazing amounts.
I like that there's lots of people to make lots of friends with.
We have an active music department, and the science teachers are willing to offer extra help outside of lesson time.
I love the variety of clubs and possibilities at Loreto such as work experience and STEM Day.
I love how Loreto is inclusive and they let you unleash your creativity with lots of lessons like art, DT, textiles and food tech as well with English creative writing and more.
I love the food!
I really like us having a 'no plastic' policy.
