Year 7 Info
A Warm Welcome to our new Year 7s!
It is with very great pleasure that we welcome you and your child to Loreto College, St Albans
You may know that in October 2024 we had our first Ofsted inspection since 2013. We were delighted that we were judged to be 'outstanding' in the 4 key areas of Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development and Leadership and Management. I was very proud of the section of the report which stated, “The school has very carefully considered the starting points of pupils before they arrive in Year 7. Leaders have put in place a range of activities that assist pupils in their transition from primary school.'
The purpose of our Year 7 transition events and this section of our website is for us to learn as much as possible about your child. This will help us to provide this same support to them as they move into our school.
Please use our transition events as an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. It can be a daunting time but the team will be on hand throughout this process to support you.
We strongly encourage your child to sign up for clubs at school. All students are expected to join at least one club. Students can also use our Library until 4.15pm to complete homework.
I look forward to meeting you and your child again throughout the transition process.
Mrs Thompson
Headteacher
