Loreto St Albans is an 11-18 girls’ academy recognised by OFSTED as outstanding in all areas. With the support of our enthusiastic and accomplished staff our students achieve excellent results, and the Progress 8 performance measure has regularly placed Loreto in the top 4% of schools in the country. We are looking to appoint an inspirational teacher to join a well-established and successful Religious Education Department. The successful candidate will be innovative and have a passion for the subject. They will have the ability to inspire, engage and motivate students, and be able to teach across the whole ability range, KS3, KS4 and ideally KS5.

Religious Education at Loreto College

The successful candidate will join a successful department who teach Religious Education from Year 7 to 11. We follow the AQA specification at GCSE. In the 6^th form we deliver core RE and catechetics. We follow the Edexcel specification in Religious Studies at A level and we enjoy excellent outcomes in KS4 and KS5.

All pupils follow the Catholic Education Service Religious Education Curriculum Directory from Yr 7 and our team is collaborating with other schools in Westminster Diocese on its planning and implementation. There are many opportunities for professional development. We are part of a rich network of Loreto schools in the UK and the RE department has opportunities to collaborate with the RE departments in those schools also. The school has a rich chaplaincy life and a Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) group which also collaborates with the Loreto network of schools.

Our students are a pleasure to teach. We expect our staff to work hard, and in return we offer plenty of opportunities for further career development.
