Yr10 Careers Day - Tues 15 July 2025
The Year 10 Careers Day was a great success and the students appeared to get a lot out of each session, which focussed on a range of careers-related information and skills.
The day’s programme:
- Cooper Parry delivered a talk about the world of finance & accountancy, sharing essential employability skills & application tips. They also tasked students with unpicking and solving a real life industry work-based problem.
- CV Workshop let students access Unifrog - the online careers platform - to build their own CV.
- Transferable Skills & Mock Assessment with Herts University provided students with information and gave them a real-life mock assessment centre immersive experience.
- Guess the Profession gave students a chance to question people working across a range of different careers.
Here are some reflections from our Year 10 students, who all did themselves, and the school, proud:
- I loved the guess the profession game.
- I learnt different skills people need.
- I have more knowledge about engineers.
- The information was useful.
- I have a wider understanding of different professions.
- Useful to practise creating a CV.
- Learnt a lot about T Levels.
- Discovered new jobs e.g. accountant, curator, project manager and more.
- I liked the talk from Cooper Parry.
- I liked working as a group.
