MFL Fun Morning - Sept 2025

On Friday 26 September 2025, the MFL Department organised another very successful MFL Fun Morning to celebrate European Day of Languages. Students in Yr8 had a wonderful morning immersing themselves in the beauty and richness of our wonderful world.

Here's Alexi Reman-Hamilton & Emilia Murphy in 8T to tell you all about it:

This morning we had an amazing opportunity to experience cultures and languages.

We started off in Saudi Arabia to test our knowledge of what we already knew about it. Students got to try on the Arabic dress (abaya) that women wear.

The next country we learnt about was Spain, where we learnt how to greet people through a song, Cómo estás?

Then with Miss Baptisto we did a music quiz which involved matching the songs to the countries.

After break, we learnt the culture and history through fun quizzes about Spain.

To finish, we sang a song about connecting languages and we learnt about the importance of learning a language and the benefits for our careers.

We loved today because we got to learn about different countries.
