Art Trip - Pip Mole Surrealism Workshop

On Friday Yr11 art students visited an exhibition of paintings by the artist Pip Mole at the Collective Gallery on Holywell Hill. Pip kindly gave a talk about her former career as a GMTV presenter and journalist and then went on to explain the processes involved in creating her abstract expressionist paintings. Our students asked many intelligent and perceptive questions and came away enthused and inspired to use her techniques in their own work. They produced some outstanding oil pastel studies based on Pip's paintings which will form part of their GCSE coursework. Miss Aherne and Ms Jaques were extremely proud of the exemplary behaviour demonstrated by our Yr11 students throughout the experience.

Pip's free exhibition in St Albans is only on until Tuesday 30th September at 18 Holywell Hill, St Albans. Feel free to drop in if you are in need of artistic inspiration - you might also be lucky enough to meet the artist.
