Essay Competition Success!

Sixth Form student wins Cambridge University essay prize.

Congratulations to Klara King in Year 13 who has won a prestigious Cambridge University essay prize. Caius Explore is an essay competition, open to Year 12 students from UK schools, which aims to recognise the achievements of gifted young critics from a diverse range of academic backgrounds and with a wide range of interests, and to encourage talented students with an interest in any of the subjects studied on the Cambridge English course to explore these interests further.

Klara’s winning essay was a response to the question,

Does what the author “meant” matter to our study of literary texts?

Klara’s prize was a celebratory day at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge including a three course meal with fellow winning students and a tour of the college.
