Dec 17th / Last Thursday the French department offered Year 7 pupils the chance to learn more about Christmas in France. Rose Dolan has written this report:
Christmas in France
This lunchtime event was organised by Miss Hanna and the sixth formers. We started off by learning about some French Christmas traditions. We were all fascinated by the way people celebrate Christmas in France. After learning about these traditions, we had a quiz that tested our listening skills and was quite challenging but enjoyable. Every time we answered a question correctly our prize was a tasty treat! After this, we learnt and sang “Jingle Bells” in French. To carry on with the Christmas music theme we played a fun game: We were played the French versions of some Christmas songs, and the first person to guess the name of the song gained a chocolate Santa. We finished off on a funny note, listening to some French jokes. This lunchtime was a triumph!
