July 11th / Over the course of 29th June and 1st July, all Year 9 pupils went to the London Science Museum.   Jennifer McCallum in 9Y has written this report …

When we arrived at the museum,  we split into groups and went round with our our group leaders.  Some of the highlights that we saw were:

•‘Exploring Space’, which was about the exploration of Space.

•‘Who am I?’, which was about genetics and how our DNA makes us different from one another.  This was our favourite because of the all the interactive games we were able to play.

•‘Energy Hall’, which was about the evolution of power from steam to oil.

•‘Making the Modern World’, which was about the evolution of transportation. It also included the discovery and use of electricity and inventions based on this, such as televisions and telephones.

There were also other Exhibits throughout the museum.   At the end of the trip, we visited the gift shop before heading back home.  During the day we all realised how our knowledge of the world benefits us today, and that even now we are still learning about our environment here on Earth and in space.
