June 16th / When Rachel Campbell-Johnston visited the school earlier in the year, she invited Year 8 pupils to enter a short story competition.  The girls were free to write about anything at all, and their submissions were judged by Rachel herself.  She loved reading all their stories, but felt that Sarah Murray’s really stood out.  Sarah’s tale was inspired by the story of Noah, but in her version Noah had sadly lost his wife in childbirth: on seeing his loneliness, God decided to send Noah a unicorn to comfort him, and the unicorn soon became a special friend to Noah and his family.  Her creative talents won Sarah won a signed copy of Rachel’s book and an enormous bar of chocolate!  Well done to Sarah, and to all the pupils who were inspired to enter this competition.  We are very grateful to Rachel for devoting so much of her precious time to our students.
