30th Nov 2016 – Every year Loreto students in Years 7-9 take part in the sponsored Readathon. The money they raise helps to provide children’s hospitals with regular storyteller visits and with mobile bookcases full of brand-new books which are replenished every six weeks. Click here for more details of this work. The Readathon also encourages our students to be more passionate about their reading, and gives our most voracious readers a sense of achievement and pride knowing that their hobby is allowing them to help others.
This year the students raised a fantastic £2134.10!
This money will, no doubt, make it an extra special Christmas for those children who will benefit from these funds. A huge well done to all of the students for their commitment and effort! A special congratulations goes to the following students who managed to raise the most money individually in their year group:
Ava Plows (7T)
Karis Rable (8S)
Analise Da Silva Rodrigues (9J)
Thank you to the English Department for organising this event, and to all who supported it by taking part or by sponsoring those who did.
