Dec 15th / Today the School Council held the Great Loreto Bake-off. Mr Hayes has provided this report:
When Miss Ross and I were approached by members of the School Council and asked to judge a cake baking competition, we agreed without hesitation! And I’m so glad we did. The standard of all the entries was very high and the Studio was ringing with ooohs and aaaahs of admiration at the fantastic decoration of the cakes. Miss Ross and I were asked to choose the most beautiful cake produced in each Year Group, and this was a far from easy task. After several tours of the display tables, we eventually came to the following conclusions.
This was the overall competition winner, baked by Louisa and Tyra in 8Y:
This was our favourite cake from Year 7, baked by Mia and Emma:
The standard in Year 8 was particularly high, but we eventually chose this cake made by Libby:
In Year 9, we chose this cake from 9Y:
Our favourite bake in Year 10 was from Georgia and Charlotte:
In Year 12, we loved Tara’s creation:
In Year 13, we simply couldn’t decide, so we gave the prize jointly to Sian, Amelia, Devon and Chloe:
Many thanks to everyone who took part in the competition, and to all the School Council members who helped run the event, particularly Sian and Natalie.
