19th Sept 2016 – Four Loreto students have taken part in various national and international swimming events over the course of this summer.
In July Shannon Stott travelled to Beavais in France as part of the GB team for the International Catholic Student Games (FISEC) She had a very successful meet, winning 5 gold and 2 silver medals as well as breaking two records.
In late July, early August, four Loreto girls travelled to Sheffield to compete in the British and English Summer Championships.
At the British Summer Championships, Megan Davies competed in the 800m freestyle, finishing 7th and the 400m freestyle where she finished 12th. The following week she competed in the English nationals where she qualified for the 200 free final and won silver.
Shannon Stott qualified for the British Summer championships in three events. She won a bronze medal in the 100m butterfly and finished 7th in the 200 butterfly final and 11th in the 400 medley. The following week at the English summer championships, she won two silvers, in the 400 free and 50 butterfly.
Lauren Stott and Sara Kalawaska both competed at the English Nationals. Sara finished 11th in the 12/13 100 butterfly and Lauren 15th in the 14 year age group in the 100 butterfly. Lauren also competed in the 200 butterfly where she came 15th too.
Well done to all four girls for performing at such a high level!
