8th Sept 2016 – We are delighted to learn that Loreto College is one of the nominees for “Secondary Sports School of the Year” at this year’s St Albans City and District Sports Awards.  This is in recognition of various successes over the course of the previous year:

 • the PE department launched a Leadership Academy which was very successful in its first year.  Year 9 and 10 leaders helped with a range of sporting events in local primary schools throughout the year;

• Loreto College has regularly received a bronze award for the Sainsburys School Games Sportsmark;

• Loreto students have taken part in the majority of competitions which took place within the St Albans District during the last twelve months;

• The school has provided students with satellite clubs and external links with sporting agencies including Clarity Yoga, Arsenal Ladies Football Club and Beatz Street Dance;

• The school enjoys a high uptake of extra curricular activities.

We would like to congratulate Miss Baxter and the rest of the PE staff on receiving this well-deserved nomination, and wish them every success at the Awards evening on 20th September.
