March 3rd / On Monday we had a visit from a representative of the Konflux Theatre. Simon was an inspirational character and our Year 10 GCSE Drama students were immediately fully engaged.

Their aim was to create a “play in a day” exploring the importance of road safety.  The students were directed magnificently by Simon, which enabled them to take ownership of the play and develop their dramatic responses, incorporating a hard hitting message with the right balance of humour and tragedy.

Towards the end of the day all 150 of our year 7 pupils watched the final production.  Whilst being fully entertained by the performance, they learned about the dangers of using mobile phones whilst travelling, risky behaviours on the roadside, and the importance of good behaviour on the school coach!  Congratulations to the Year 10 GCSE Drama group who gave such an excellent performance.
