Feb 6th / This morning we were delighted to receive a letter from David Laws MP, Minister of State for Schools, congratulating us on being one of the “top 100 performing non-selective state-funded schools in England“.  This is the second year running that we have received such a letter, and is a great tribute to the combined efforts of our pupils, parents, staff and governors.

Mr Laws also rewarded the school for what he referred to as the “attainment and value-added progress of your disadvantaged pupils since 2011“.  Value-added progress refers to the difference between what a pupil is expected to achieve based on their Key Stage 2 levels, and what they actually achieve in their GCSEs.  This reward recognises the positive improvement made by many of our disadvantaged pupils.
