April 22nd / Last year Helen Moss visited Loreto College and made a big impact on the Y7 pupils she spoke to. Therefore when our school librarian Mrs Parkin heard that Helen was running a competition, she mentioned it to some of our students. Helen was inviting young people to design the cover of her next book, which has an Egyptian theme to it.  Mrs Parkin collected in several entries and sent them off to Helen.

This week we were delighted to learn that Chelsea Beauchamp in Y8 has won the runners-up prize in this competition. She received three signed copies of Helen’s books along with a letter from Helen.  Another of our entrants, Niamh O’Sullivan, was given a book token for her ‘highly commended’ design.  Today Mrs Parkin was invited into the Year 8 Assembly to present their awards.

Well done to all the students who took part in this competition, and especially to Niamh and Chelsea.
