Sept 11th / This year, the Art Department has decided to run an ongoing showcase of some of the fantastic work produced by our talented students: we can’t wait all the way to the summer exhibition before we celebrate and share it with you! We hope everyone enjoys looking at our students’ work and that it inspires others in their own artwork.
Our first piece of featured work is by Emily in Y10. Below the picture is her explanation of how she came to produce this image.
This year in GCSE art, we are focusing on “Natural Forms”. We wanted to do something different, so Miss Cooke gave us the idea of drawing stuffed animals from the Natural History Museum. We thought this was a good idea, because this way we could capture the animal realistically without it moving, and therefore it would be easier to draw.
