Oct 1st / Freedom Quilt.  This week we are showcasing the work produced during the latest Art and Technology Day. During that event our Y8 students could choose to explore Art and Textiles or Resistant Materials and Food Technology.  In the Art and Textiles group, they designed and printed a creature which represented “Freedom”: they could choose birds, butterflies, dragonflies or fish.

Once they had captured an image of their chosen creature using lino printing, they moved to the Textiles department.  There they made a border for their prints, using materials that they thought would reflect the theme.  Finally, all of the prints were connected together to make these hangings as symbols of Freedom.  These are now on display on either side of the stage in the main school hall.
