Feb 26th / Year 9 pupils have recently undertaken some “Patterned Portrait Projects”.  Antonia Babs-Jonah in 9J tells us more about this …

We have been working on a self-portrait which showed our interests and identity. We  started off by drawing a partner using a grid structure as a guide to help us with the proportions of the face. We then produced our own self-portrait in our sketchbooks, forming patterns with things that we like, such as logos, music notes and our favourite colours.  Finally we had our photos taken and worked from these to produce an A3 portrait. This was a fun project as the portraits are really personal and individual.
