Nov 27th / Some of our Sixth formers were so moved by the plight of the refugees in Calais that they began collecting supplies for them.  Representatives from Emmaus came today to collect everything they had gathered, and were hugely appreciative of the girls’ efforts.  They spoke about the rise in the number of refugees, and the awful conditions that they are living in, so the girls definitely understood that their hard work was appreciated.  Emmaus are going to keep us posted about the situation, and will let us know whether there is anything else Loreto students can do to help.

Three student in particular deserve a special mention for their commitment to this cause:

Bryony McVeigh

Sara Godfrey

Charlotte Hutton

We are also very grateful for the help they have received from Mrs McLauchlan.
