Nov 12th / Yesterday our Year 7 pupils visited Westminster Cathedral as the first ‘retreat’ activity of their time at Loreto.  At 11 a.m. the girls observed the two minute silence on the steps of the cathedral.  Later on they attended the 12.30 mass.  As part of the day’s activities the girls familiarised themselves with a selection of the many wonderful religious artefacts to be found in the cathedral, including plaques, mosaics and paintings.  It was a day of reflection and discovery.  It was also wonderful to meet Sister Jane Livesey, the congregational leader of the Congregation of Jesus who also attended the mass: she was very impressed with our Year 7 girls and said that Mary Ward would have been proud of them!
