Sports Day (Altered Timetable)

July 17, 2017 all-day

Sports Day is an inter-house competition with each pupil expected to compete in at least one event.

Classes will register as normal at school. They will then walk to Westminster Lodge under the supervision of teachers and Sixth Form students, with all road junctions being supervised by a member of staff. At the track the girls will be seated in house groups.

All students are required to wear their Loreto school tracksuit and PE kit both to school and to the track. When competing, the students should wear their athletic skorts, t-shirt, white socks and trainers. Leggings are NOT allowed! In order to compete, pupils will be provided with a house label by the PE department and will therefore need to provide 4 safety pins each.  Any pupils who are not able to participate will need to be in school uniform.

Normal school rules apply and so students are reminded that NO music players, mobile phones, cameras or make up are appropriate for Sports Day. All girls are advised to bring water, light refreshments, sun cream and an umbrella! Students may want to share a blanket to sit on or use a pop up tent.

When all the events are over, pupils will return to school, where we will have a Sports Day BBQ.  This offers a choice of either a burger, sausage, chicken kebab or a vegetarian option, a variety of salads and an ice lolly – all at a cost of just £2.20. After the BBQ an Awards Ceremony will take place in the school hall.  Pupils will be dismissed at 2.30 pm.

In the event of heavy rain or dangerous conditions the Sports Day will not go ahead. A decision regarding this will be made by 9 am on 17th July.  Should that eventuality appear likely, students should be prepared for normal school lessons and school will finish at 2.30 pm.
